Non humans
Our unique location is surrounded by National Park, and we live in harmony with the fauna. While most of our local visitors are harmless, it is best to observe without interfering with animals. Please advise staff of any wildlife sighting if you are concerned.
Marine Stingers are annual visitors in our coastal waters over the summer months. Usually the season extends from early December until early May, although this varies from year to year depending on rainfall and water temperature. During this time, swimming is not recommended on North Queensland beaches.
Stinger nets are located on the beaches in Port Douglas and Palm Cove; both approximately 15 minutes drive from Turtle Cove. These are patrolled by lifeguards and the nets are dragged regularly to check for the presence of stingers.
